We do not have a sea nearby and it is not easy for Czech kayakers to get there too often, nevertheless, there is plenty to do, before we get on the sea. One of the activities throughout the year is preparation for the marathon that happens once a year on local river Vltava (Moldau) and its dams. The marathon starts at 6 in the morning and is officially 106 km long, but the real length is about 95, depending on how each paddler cuts the „corners“. Due to the floods (see pictures here) the date of marathon was postponed for few month and, I guess because of that, we had less people who showed up. Great times paddling about 13 hours straight.
